Does our health correlate to the health of the planet?

The health of people and the health of the planet is linked.  In this case, I am talking about environmental pollutants such as heavy metals – mercury, copper, lead, cadmium, aluminium and a few others. Then there are pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, dioxins, old DDT, preservatives, plastics, formaldehyde, viruses esp. the herpes species, bacteria, and medications.  These are … Read more

Is plant-focused diet the answer to climate change?

Life is difficult

Here is a quote from a book that helped to change my life. Read on and find out why.

Life is difficult… Once we truly know that life is difficult, once we truly understand and accept it-then life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.” M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Travelled: A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values and Spiritual Growth”

We all struggle with aspects of being alive today, and we are not alone. Yet, we all hide our struggles and put on a brave face. Sometimes we develop a habit of always putting on a brave face.

Our life here is not very long, and we often don’t realise our mortality until it is too late.

I have questions that I think are universal:

  • How are we to live whilst we are here?
  • Do we spend too much of our time worrying about how we look, who likes us, and all the mistakes we have made?
  • Do we struggle to forgive?
  • Are we just surviving each day?
  • Do we listen to, and follow our intuition?

I stand for three simple things:

  1. We are here to experience life on our own terms, not to follow what is expected of us.
  2. We must be bold and courageous, and take the road less travelled.
  3. We must find out what nourishes us, what makes us thrive and what to avoid.

Nature is constantly evolving, disrupting and growing. We are part of nature, and nature helps us to be humble and open to seeing how we are in the world.

What if you could get into a helicopter that went high enough for you to see our beautiful yet endangered planet, all of the brilliance of humanity, and all of the fear and undeveloped parts of humanity? Would you be sad, or would you feel angry? Perhaps you would have an entirely new perspective about the planet, your life, and all of the people on it.

Understanding the bigger picture of life could be the potion for renewing us and filling half-empty hearts and minds. We have to cease living our life according to others and find the beauty and fascination with our own unique potential.  Could this be this be a new calling for our times?
